CalCurriculum is the sister brand of our client CORE Learning. We recently built a totally new brand and website for CORE, and they want to leverage some of this work to refresh the CalCurriculum website.
Ultimately, what they want to do is duplicate the CORE website that we’ve built, replace the colors and logos with their own, and then adapt sections from each page of the site to build a slightly different website that fulfils the unique needs of CalCurriculum while still making use of the UX and design work that went into CORE’s site.
There are 13 unique pages for us to create updated designs for using the building blocks of the CORE website + a Reports section that we’re aiming to leave as similar to its current state as possible as it makes use of a temperamental plugin we don’t want to break.
This Google Sheet has a list of each page, along with design notes that detail the changes CalCurriculum wants to make from the CORE website. There are 13 pages they want to design (and then there are five pages in the 'Reports' section that they want to keep as similar as possible to the current design as they are auto-populated from an API that we want to mess around with as little as possible).
Some further scoping questions were answered by the client here.
They are happy to use the major design elements of the CORE website and just switch out the colors, and logos. They do want to change the font and use Hind instead (a related but alternative font to Reader, which is what we used for CORE).
All Figma files and design assets from the CORE website build will be available for use during the design and build.
We want to try and dev simultaneously during the design process to speed things up as much as possible. The key aim is to deliver version 1 of the website in staging by December 20th at the absolute latest.
Below is a rough timeline we’d like to work towards. Please note, the launch date of January 23rd is non-negotiable, and if we don’t hit it there’s a significant reduction to our fee.
